Today's Valedictory function started with Arati followed by Welcome Address and a brief report on Summer Camp 2024 by the students.


After which a variety of Cultural Programs like Sloka, Bhajan, Drama, Yoga were exhibited by the students.


Rev, Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj greatly appreciated the Children for their quick learning and for their best Performance, nearly 120 students and around 90 Parents attended today's function.


The function came to an end with Chanting of Shanti Mantra.

Bala Mandir Sunday class for children from the age of 8 to 13 was inaugurated on 7th July 2024. Children along with their parents attended the function. The function started with Arati to the Holy Trio and Vedic chanting at 9 am.

Swamis Apavargananda and Satyaprabhananda addressed the gathering. The Benedictory address was rendered by Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj.

The children are taught Bhajans, Moral Stories, Slokas, Drawing and Yoga. The classes are conducted by monks, teachers and volunteers. The session was over by 12.30 pm.

Valedictory Function held at VIHE Hall On 31-5-24 for Balamandir Students and for Personality Development Class for Boys

Today's Valedictory function started with Arathi done by Swami Sankarathmanandaji Maharaj, followed by Welcome Address and a brief report on Summer Camp 2024 by the students.


After which a variety of Cultural Programs like Dance, Sloka, Bhajan, Drama, Yoga, Fancy dress and Various individual talents as well were exhibited by the students.


Swami Dharmishtanandaji Maharaj appreciated the children talents. and requested the parents to continue sending their children in the forthcoming Sunday Classes as well, so that there would be a continuity in their character building.


Rev, Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj greatly appreciated the Children for their quick learning and for their best Performance, nearly 120 students and around 90 Parents attended today's function.


Many Monks graced this Occasion and blessed the students. The function came to an end with Chanting of Shanti Mantra.

To give a Samskara (Good Traditional-Cultural habits) along with values (the sacred conduct) adding to the personality, the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence (VIHE) of Chennai Sri Ramakrishna Math is holding “Vivekananda Balamandir Summer Camp” May- 2024. This is the 31st year and forwarding on march.

To introduce how to perform Kumkumaarchanam and what is its significance, we had the same performed by the children of Balamandir on Sunday, 26th May 2024. 
The event began with waving the Arati to Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. 

After a short introduction and explaining the significance, Kumkumarchana started. Children offered Archanam to the Holy trio for 108 times separately. 

“Ashtottara Shata Namavali” book was given as prasadam to everyone. Children enjoyed the session of learning Kumkumaarchanam. A Medical workshop by Expert Doctors was arranged for Boy and Girls Separately.

All the Children partook Prasadam at the end of the session.

Significance of Kumkumaarchanam

Kumkumaarchanam is deeply intertwined with the concept of spirituality and inner transformation. It is believed that the spot between the eyebrows, where kumkum is applied, corresponds to the 'ajna chakra' or the third eye, representing higher consciousness and intuition. By adorning this spot with kumkum, individuals seek to awaken their spiritual potential and attain enlightenment.

In addition to its spiritual and cultural significance, Kumkumaarchanam also has practical benefits. Kumkum is made from turmeric, lime, and natural pigments, which possess medicinal properties. The application of kumkum on the forehead is believed to cool the body and improve concentration, especially during meditation and prayer sessions.

A brief report on Mata Pita Puja Performed by Balamandir Students to their Parents.

 

Aarti to the Holy Trinity was done by the Revered Swami Atmaghanananda ji Maharaj. Followed by Vibrant Chanting of Vedic Mantras,  by Monks and Brahmacharins.

 

  • Then a short introduction and welcome for the gathering was given by one of the Volunteer.
  • A demo of Mata-Pita Puja was done by a volunteer for the new children.
  • The much awaited Puja by Balamandir Students to their Parents was done with great zeal.

    This Puja,  which is being performed from time immemorial though forgotten at modern times,  seems to bring an inseparable bandage between the child and the parents. Know that the Parents are living Gods for a child, says Taittariya Upanishad.

     

    Swami Atmaghanananda ji Maharaj in his speech appreciated both the parents and child for being present in this Sunday Morning to do the Puja. He told good habits could be given to children by admitting them in Balamandir Classes. Maharaj ji, also shared few of his experiences while he used to conduct Balamandir Class.

     

    Next, Swami Shashishikhananda ji Maharaj insisted on parents, that daily they need to spend a minimum of an hour with their child,  so that the child will freely share his/her thoughts with their parents. It’s kind of investment for the future of the child.

     

    Next, Swami Dharmishthananda ji Maharaj more than making money for their children, giving values to their children is very important,  if not,  Maharaj ji warned that many old age homes are/will be coming up. He also requested the parents to inform in their friends circle or all known contacts about the Balamandir Classes taken at our Math and its benefits by joining.

     

    At the end,  many parents came forward with valuable suggestions,  touching remarks about the Balamandir class in general and Puja in particular,

     

    Finally, Balamandir incharge Maharaj- Vaanishachaitanya (Mahesh) Maharaj ji answered few of their (parents) queries.

     

    The Puja came to a close with few announcements,  followed by Shanti Mantra and telling Jai ghosh to The Holy Trinity. 

    All the Children took their parents to Temple-Shrine and attended the Arati. Nearly 160 people had the Sweet Prasadam.

    The Inaugural Function of Vivekananda Summer Camp  2024.

    This Function was held on 1.5.24, at VIHE Hall, Sri Ramakrishna Math,  Mylapore. 

    Revered Swami Atmagananandaji and Swami Raghunayakanandaji Maharaj  graced the occasion. 

    The Function started with the Aarthi performed by Revered Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj with Chanting. 

    Next, a brief introduction about the Summer Camp and welcome address was given by one of the volunteer. 

    Swami Atmagananadaji Maharaj greatly appreciated the parents for having taken right decision to put their ward's in this Camp. Maharaj Ji gave the example from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Only a growing plant needs fencing but a grown up tree requires no such fencing. Likewise,  moral classes are required more for younger children, so that as they grow up,  they will have strong character. 

    Swami Raghunayakanandaji, in his speech told, we need to be more strict when children are young but unfortunately present day parents seem to be very lenient during that period, as a result find it difficult to correct their children when they grow up.

    Finally a parent thanked Sri Ramakrishna Math for organizing Vivekananda Balamandir Class. 

    Nearly 140 students attended today's class and  around 65 parents attended the Inaugural Function.

    A brief report on Matru -Pitru (Annai- Pita) Pooja for Sunday Balamandir Students to their Parents.

        

    The program started with  Aarti to The Holy Trinity by the Revered Swami Rajeswaranandaji Maharaj.

        

    Followed by Vedic Chanting led by Swami Suprajnanandaji Maharaj.

        

    Then there was a demo of Matru Pitru Puja by a senior student to make parents understand easier.

        

    Then, the much awaited Matru Pitru Puja was performed by Balamandir Students to their parents.

    Also a pledge taken in Tamil  regarding their conduct and behavior.

        

    After which,  there were speeches given by the guests and Revered Monks on this occasion;.

        

    1. Smt. Jayanthy Madam Spoke on respecting and obeying thier parents.

        

    2. Revered Swami Rajeswaranandaji Spoke how the children learn from seeing their parents. So,  parents must be a role model to children.

        

    3. Swami Suprajnanandaji Maharaj interacted with the students in a lively manner.

        

    Last,  few parents gave their joyful, tearful, with extremely happy feedbacks.


    After few announcements,  there was a general thanks giving,

    Bala Mandir Sunday class for children from the age of 8 to 13 was inaugurated on 2nd July 2023, at Swami Brahamananda Hall, Sri Ramakrishna Math Chennai. Along with their parents all the children attended the function. The function started with Arati to The Holy Trio and Vedic chanting at 9 am. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Swami Narasimhananda.  


    Swami Dharmishthanandaji Maharaj, Manager, gave blessings. This was followed by regular classes. In these classes children are taught Bhajans, Moral Stories, Slokas, Drawing and Yoga. The classes are conducted by monks, teachers and volunteers. The session was over by 12.30 pm. Prasadam was distributed.
