Valedictory Function of Balamandir Sunday Classes 2025-26 (Photos)

1) The Valedictory Function of the “Balamandir Sunday Classes--2025-26” was celebrated on Sunday, 22nd February 2026, at the VIHE Hall.

2) On that day, nearly 44 students (17 girls and 27 boys) attended the function.

3) Nearly 30 parents (65 people in total) were present at the Function. Some of the parents could not come due to personal reasons. A few monks also attended the programme.

4) There were two sessions. In the first session, the students exhibited their talents through their performance of Shlokas, Bhajans, Dramas, recitation of Tirukkural, Storytelling, Yoga Demonstration, etc. All the parents enjoyed the programmes. During the break, soft drinks were given to all.

5) In the second session, one of the teachers, Ms Narmadha, welcomed the swamis, teachers, parents, volunteers and the students.

6) Swami Satyaprabhananda spoke about the significance of human life and said how important it was to utilise it properly.

7) Two students (one boy and one girl) gave their beautiful feedback. After that, many of the parents also came forward to present their feedback. They appreciated the effort of the Math in giving proper directions to mould their children’s lives.

8) Srimat Swami Satyajnananandaji Maharaj blessed the students with a benedictory address. He said how important it was to live our lives according to our Indian tradition for a beneficial and fruitful life. He also talked about the role of parents and hinted at parents responsibilities in shaping their children future.

9) Some of the drawings of the students were displayed at the entrance. They attracted the parents and teachers.

10) All the teachers, volunteers, and students were given some books as a gift. As per the wishes of Swami Satyajnananandaji Mj., all the parents were presented with the book “Enlightened Parenting”.

11) The programme came to an end with a Vote of Thanks by Ms Prema Madam.

12) It ended at 12.20 p.m., followed by the distribution of Lunch Prasadam to all.

National Youth Day 2026 (Photos)

The National Youth Day Competition 2026 Prize Distribution Function was successfully held on Friday, 9 January 2026, at the Swami Vivekananda Centenary Hall, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. The event was jointly organised by Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam and the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Competitions conducted across Tamil Nadu, including AI video presentations, comic strips, handicrafts, paintings, bhajans, elocution, drawing, and quiz programmes, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of schools and colleges. The programme featured inspiring addresses by student winners, an AI video presentation, and felicitation of prize winners. Sri Kizhambur Sankarasubramaniyam, Editor, Kalaimagal, graced the event as Guest of Honour, while Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, former Vice Chancellor of Dr. MGR Medical University, delivered the Chief Guest address.

The function concluded with prize distribution and benediction by Swami Satyanananda, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, reinforcing Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of character-building, strength, and service among youth.

MGR School Program (Photos)

Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, conducted a One-Day Talent Show programme for the students of Dr MGR Home and Higher Secondary School for the Speech and Hearing Impaired, Ramapuram, Chennai, on 20th November, Thursday.

The programme started at 9.00 a.m. and was concluded at 12.30 p.m. A variety of cultural programmes took place.

Many students exhibited their talents in different fields as follows: Drawing 23, English Essay writing 11, Tamil Essay writing 9, Group Dance

6, Rangoli 10, Yoga 13, Gymnastics 17, Mime 1, and Tamil Speech 1.

35 Teachers came with the students, and 14 Intern Students also accompanied them. Nearly 175 students were present.

Srimat Swami Dharmatmanandaji Maharaj blessed the children with a few words, and Srimat Swami Dharmishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, RKM Students’ Home, gave the keynote address. Swami Satyaprabhananda also gave a small talk.

Those students who exhibited their talents were given Participation Certificates along with a gift of a book.

From The Clarke School, Mylapore, Chennai, 18 students and 3 teachers came and witnessed the programmes. They were given some books as a gift.

9 volunteers gave their wonderful service to make the event successful.

At the end, all were given lunch Prasad. Nearly 210 people (students and teachers, & volunteers) took the Prasad.

Inauguration and Certificate Distribution Function

The Inauguration Ceremony was held on Monday, August 11, 2025, for the new students of the Sanskrit Course. It started at 7:10 in the evening.

Swami Satyaprabhananda welcomed the gathering and talked about the greatness of the Sanskrit language and the need to read the Sastras.

Smt. Bhanumati explained in Tamil the simple techniques for learning the language.

Smt. Nirmala gave a wonderful talk in Sanskrit, making the students understand how simple it is to learn the language.

Three students shared their sweet experiences of learning Sanskrit.

Sri Prabhakarji gave the instructions and guidelines to the new students.

11 students completed the Level 1 course and were given certificates along with a book on Sister Nivedita.

Teachers were given books as gifts.

At the end, all were given Prasadam. It ended at 8.30 p.m.

Now, 13 students have joined the Level 2 course, and 17 students have joined the Level 1 course. More students are expected to join.

Balamandir Sunday Classes - Mata-Pita Puja 2025 (Photos)

Mata-Pita Puja was conducted on Sunday, 10 th August 2025, for our Balamandir students.

Nearly 32 students and 60 parents attended the programme.

Ms. Prema and Ms. Narmadha (our volunteer teachers) guided the students through the Puja, which involved offering flowers, Chandan, and kumkum at the feet of their parents. Then they offered parents sweet and water.

It was followed by taking up 20 pledges by the students to their parents.

After that, parents blessed their children and fed them sweets and water.

Swami Atmaghananandaji Mj. gave the benedictory address, in which he discussed the importance of blessings from parents, etc.

Swami Satyajnananandaji Mj. blessed the students, explaining the significance of our culture and basic disciplines.

After that, children took their parents to the Main Temple to offer prayers.

The programme ended with the distribution of Prasadam to students and parents.

Inaugural Function of Balamandir Sunday Classes 2025 - 26 (Photos)

The Balamandir Sunday Classes – 2025-26 were inaugurated on Sunday, 6 th July, at the VIHE Hall.

On the first day of the course, nearly 50 students (24 girls and 26 boys) attended the function.

Nearly 60 parents were present at the Inaugural Function.

One of the teachers welcomed the gathering and explained the rules for the Camp.

Srimat Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj blessed the students by giving a short benedictory address. He said they have a wonderful opportunity to develop themselves and advised them to utilize the opportunity.

Swami Apavargananda, Editor of Ramakrishna Vijayam, explained the importance of regular Sunday Class activities for students development and hinted at parents responsibility in shaping their children's future.

Children were taught Bhajans, Shlokas, Drawing, Moral Stories, Yoga, etc.

Monks, parents, teachers, and volunteers attended the function.

The programme ended at 12.15 p.m., followed by the distribution of Prasadam to all.

Inaugural Session of Balamandir Summer Camp 2025

Balamandir Summer Camp - 2025 was inaugurated on Thursday, 1st May, at the VIHE Hall.
On the first day of camp, nearly 90 students (40 girls and 50 boys) attended the function.
Nearly 60 parents were present in the Inaugural Function.
One of the teachers welcomed the gathering and explained the rules for the Camp.
Swami Satyajnananandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, blessed the students by giving a short benedictory address in which he said that each one was unique in his/her own way, and that students should find out that uniqueness and develop accordingly.
Swami Satyaprabhananda explained the importance of the Summer Camp activities for a wonderful development of students. He also hinted at the responsibility of the parents in moulding their childrens' future.
Children were taught Bhajans, Shlokas, Drawing, Moral Stories, Yoga, etc.
Monks, parents, teachers and volunteers attended the function.
The programme came to an end at 12.15 p.m. followed by Prasadam distribution.

Valedictory Session of Balamandir Summer Camp 2025

1. The Camp was inaugurated on 1 st May, Thursday, 2025. Boys and girls of 8 to 13 years joined this Camp. 62 girls and 82 boys joined the Camp.

2. Bhajans, Shlokas, Yoga, Drawing, Moral stories, etc., were taught to the students.

3. To instill devotion in their minds, students were given training in Kumkum Archana on 11 th May, Sunday. Many students joined along with their parents.

4. On the same day, there was a special discourse for the parents on how to maintain their children’s physical and mental health in a better way. Mr. Krishna, Co-Founder and head Coach of Temple of Strength, delivered a wonderful talk on “Installing Physical and Mental Resilience Among Kids.” The parents liked the talk.

5. And, to enhance our Hindu culture, students performed Mata-Pita Puja on Sunday, May 25th. They worshipped their parents, and parents blessed their children. Srimat Swami Atmaghananandaji Mj. gave a brief talk on the importance of discipline, truthfulness, etc.

6. Valedictory Function was held on Saturday, 31 st May. Cultural Programmes like Shlokas, Bhajans, Drama in Tamil and English, Yoga Demonstration, Dance, Recitation, etc., were held. Nearly 90 parents and 90 students were present.

7. Pictures showing the drawing talent of the students were exhibited.

8. Srimat Swami Dharmatmanandaji Mj. and Srimat Swami Atmaghananandaji Mj. gave a beautiful benedictory address praising the students for their performance and discipline.

9. Students and parents were served drinks in the middle and lunch Prasadam at the end.
