The nine-day Vivekananda Navaratri 2026 concluded reverentially on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at Vivekananda Illam, Chennai, with a spiritually elevating and culturally rich Valedictory Function.

The evening commenced with soulful bhajans by the students of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, setting a devotional atmosphere. This was followed by a meaningful reading from Swami Vivekananda’s Chennai Lecture, “The Future of India”, reminding the audience of his timeless vision for the nation.

The Valedictory Function formally began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the culmination of nine days of spiritual celebration. Swami Shantachittananda, Editor of The Vedanta Kesari, delivered the welcome address and reflected on the significance of Vivekananda Navaratri in nurturing India’s spiritual and cultural values. The dignitaries were then honoured in recognition of their presence and contributions.

The Chief Guest’s Address was delivered by Sri Ganesh, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Southern Railways, who shared inspiring thoughts on values, discipline, and nation-building, drawing parallels between spiritual ideals and public service.

This was followed by a scholarly talk on “Swamiji’s Contribution to India’s Cultural Heritage” by Swami Raghunayakananda, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s enduring influence on India’s cultural resurgence. The audience then received blessings during the Benediction by Revered Swami Tanmayanandaji Maharaj, Senior Monk of the Ramakrishna Mission, Haridwar.

A concise summary of Vivekananda Navaratri 2026 celebrations and Vote of Thanks was presented by Swami Ishapremananda, acknowledging the collective efforts that made the nine-day observance meaningful and successful. The formal proceedings concluded with a serene closing song rendered by Swami Karuneshananda.

The evening culminated with a visually captivating thematic dance-drama, “Sri Andal Charitam”, presented by Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai. The performance beautifully blended devotion, aesthetics, and classical artistry, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

As part of the ongoing Vivekananda Navaratri celebrations, Day 7 and Day 8 were dedicated to a special program for registered school students titled “Feel Vivekananda.” The sessions were conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Vivekananda Illam on 12th & 13th February 2026, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and teachers from various schools.

The day began with a prayer, setting a serene and inspiring tone for the program. Students were then guided through the photo gallery on Indian Culture and the Life of Swami Vivekananda, helping them gain a deeper understanding of India’s spiritual heritage and Swamiji’s extraordinary life and message.

A major highlight of the program was the engaging 3D, 4D, and multimedia video presentations showcasing the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. These immersive visual experiences left a lasting impression on the young minds, making Swamiji’s ideals more relatable and inspiring.

The students also had the opportunity to listen to inspiring talks delivered by the monks, who emphasized character building, self-confidence, service-mindedness, and devotion to the nation—values strongly upheld by Swami Vivekananda. Interactive sessions encouraged students to reflect on how they could apply these teachings in their daily lives.

Over the two days, thousands of registered students visited Vivekananda House, actively participated in the exhibitions, and experienced a spiritually uplifting and educational journey.

The successful completion of Days 7 and 8 of Vivekananda Navaratri stands as a testament to the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s message and its powerful impact on the younger generation.

The sixth day of Vivekananda Navaratri was conducted successfully on 11 February 2026 (Wednesday) at Vivekananda Illam, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, for the registered participants. The day’s theme, “Valimaiyaga Bharathathil Naam – Towards a Powerful Bharat”, was specially designed for professionals, focusing on character building, national responsibility, and spiritual values in modern life.

The session began with devotional bhajans that created a serene and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by inspiring talks from distinguished speakers including Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Former Director, ISRO, who shared motivating insights on dedication, scientific temper, and national development. Major Madhan Kumar delivered a powerful address drawing from his multifaceted professional experience, highlighting discipline, leadership, and service-mindedness. Smt. Prabha Sridevan, former judge, offered thoughtful reflections on ethics, values, and responsible citizenship.

Participants actively engaged in the group discussion and interactive question-and-answer session, making the program lively and meaningful. As part of the Vivekananda Navaratri celebrations, the Day 4 Youth Convention titled “Modern India – Youth Power Envisioned by Vivekananda” was successfully conducted on 9 February 2026 (Monday) from 9.30 am to 1.15 pm. The session was organized exclusively for registered candidates and witnessed enthusiastic participation from young attendees.

The programme began with devotional bhajans, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by a series of inspiring talks by distinguished speakers, including Thiru Dhamal K. Saravanan (Speaker & Writer), Dr. N. Badhri (Educationist), and Mrs. Anuradha Adhibhagavan (Eloquent Orator). The speakers highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s vision of youth as the driving force of a strong and value-based modern India and encouraged participants to cultivate character, confidence, and social responsibility.

The programme commenced with soulful bhajans by the students of Vivekananda College, Chennai, setting a serene and uplifting tone for the evening. This was followed by a reading from Swami Vivekananda’s Chennai Lecture — “The Work Before Us”, reminding the audience of Swamiji’s call to dedicated service and nation-building.

A thought-provoking talk on “Future of India – Swamiji’s Vision” was delivered by Swami Nityadipananda, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Madurai. His address highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s ideals for a strong, awakened, and value-based India, inspiring the gathering to translate these ideals into daily life.

The Chief Guest Address was given by Padma Shri Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, on the theme “Let Us Create a Developed India”. He spoke about the role of youth, education, character, and innovation in shaping the nation’s future, connecting modern progress with spiritual foundations.

The cultural segment featured a vibrant Kuchipudi thematic dance production — “Ardhanareeshwaram” by the Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai. The performance beautifully depicted the divine unity of Shiva and Shakti and was received with great appreciation by the audience.

The evening’s programme beautifully combined culture, scripture, reflection, and drama, highlighting the life-giving message of Swami Vivekananda.

The programme commenced with a vibrant cultural presentation titled “Janathin Anandam” by the students of Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School, Mylapore. The performance reflected spiritual values and universal harmony, setting a joyful and uplifting tone for the evening.

This was followed by a reading from Swami Vivekananda’s Chennai Lecture — “Reply to the Address of Welcome.” The selected passages reminded the audience of Swamiji’s powerful words delivered in Chennai and their continuing relevance today.

Next, Swami Atmaghananandaji, Senior Monk of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, delivered a Tamil talk on “Vivekananda in Chennai.” He highlighted Swamiji’s historic association with the city, his influence on the youth, and the role Chennai played in taking his message to the world.

The Vivekananda Navaratri celebrations commenced with great devotion and spiritual fervour on Friday, 6th February 2026, at Vivekananda Illam, Chennai. The inaugural function was conducted from 5.00 pm to 8.30 pm in a serene and uplifting atmosphere with the participation of devotees, students, and invited guests.

The evening began with soulful bhajans rendered by the students of SRKM Vivekananda Centenary Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mint, Chennai. This was followed by Vedic chanting, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, and arati, invoking divine blessings for the successful conduct of the Navaratri celebrations.

An opening song on Swami Shankaratmananda set a devotional tone for the event. The welcome address was delivered by Swami Raghunayakananda, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of Vivekananda Navaratri.

Distinguished guests were honoured during the function. The Guest of Honour, Sri Ganesh, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Southern Railway, delivered an address emphasizing spiritual values in modern life. Felicitation addresses were offered by eminent dignitaries including Philanthropist Padmabhushan K. Nalli Kuppusamy Chetti, Sri K. Ramaswamy (Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai), and Sri S. Varadarajan (Ex-Chairman, Bharat Petroleum).

A special highlight of the evening was the Chief Guest address on “Swami Vivekananda’s Patriotism” delivered in Tamil by Justice Sri G. R. Swaminathan, Judge, High Court of Madras (Madurai Bench). The Vivekananda Navaratri 2025 celebrations commenced with the dignitaries lighting the ceremonial lamp, marking the beginning of the Valedictory Function. The welcome address was delivered by Swami Raghunayakananda, setting the tone for the event.

The Felicitation Address was given by Sri M. Balasubramanian, Director of Mangal Tirth Estates, who expressed appreciation for the vibrant celebrations.

The Chief Guest, Justice Smt. Anita Sumanth, Judge at the High Court of Madras, delivered an inspiring speech titled "Swami Vivekananda, A Patriotic Saint," shedding light on the life and contributions of Swami Vivekananda in shaping India's identity.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Velan C, CEO of CEEBROS, Chennai, also shared his insights, highlighting the significance of Vivekananda’s teachings in contemporary society.

Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj concluded the speeches with a Benediction, offering blessings and concluding the formal address session.
