The 164th Jayanti of Swami Ramakrishnananda was celebrated with devotion and spiritual fervour at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, on Monday, 10 August 2026.

The day began with Mangala Arati, followed by Temple Pradakshina and a special Arati to Swami Ramakrishnananda at Ramakrishnananda Mandapam. A special Puja to Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, followed by Sri Ramakrishna Homa, offerings and bhajans, was conducted as part of the celebrations.

The programme also featured devotional music and chanting, including Bhajans, Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam, and performances by students of Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mint. The evening included a special Bhajan Sandhya.

A special discourse on “Life & Teachings of Swami Ramakrishnananda” was delivered at Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall by Swami Vimokshananda Ji (Tamil) and Swami Balabhadranandaji, Assistant General Secretary, Belur Math.

The celebrations concluded with Aratrikam, bringing together devotees and well-wishers in remembrance of the life, devotion and service of Swami Ramakrishnananda, one of the direct disciples of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna.

The Jayanti celebration was a spiritually enriching occasion, inspiring all to follow the ideals of devotion, selfless service and unwavering dedication exemplified by Swami Ramakrishnananda.

Day 1 – Friday, 7 August 2026

The Spiritual Retreat Antaryogam commenced at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai, on Friday, 7 August 2026. The opening evening provided an opportunity for participants to register, settle into the retreat atmosphere, and prepare themselves for the days of spiritual reflection and practice ahead.

The programme began with Arathi, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Swami Satyajnanananda, Adhyaksha, Chennai, who formally welcomed the participants to the retreat.

The inaugural session continued with a motivational introduction to Antaryogam, focusing on its meaning and the preparations necessary for entering into a period of spiritual discipline and introspection. The session was led by Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj.

The day concluded with Night Prasad and rest, as participants prepared themselves for the intensive spiritual programme beginning the following morning.

Day 2 – Saturday, 8 August 2026

The first full day of Antaryogam centred on the theme “Spiritual Life: The Foundation of a Meaningful Human Life.” The day began early with Veda Parayanam, followed by Japam and Dhyanam, Ula Sangerthanam and Yoga. These practices helped participants begin the day with prayer, contemplation and physical discipline.

The morning sessions included an interaction between Swamis and devotees, followed by a reading from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The first discourse explored “How to define Meaningful Human Life,” presented by Swami Atmaghananandaji. This was followed by Swami Satyajnananda’s discourse on “Meaningful Routine – An important aspect of Human Life.”

The morning continued with a Harikatha on “Holy Trio & Premanandaji Maharaj – Part I”, presented by Swami Harivratananda. Swami Dharmishtananda then spoke on “What Sri Ramakrishna Taught as Meaningful Human Life.” The morning programme concluded with Prasad and rest.

The afternoon resumed with a video presentation, devotional bhajans by Swami Suddhbrahmananda, and a session of Japam and Dhyanam. Participants also took part in Archanai to Guru Maharaj and Mother, conducted by Swami Sadyojatananda.

The evening featured the Tamil talk “தன்னை ஈந்த தவயோகி – Part 1” by Swami Vimokshanandaji Maharaj, followed by an opportunity to learn Gita chanting with Swami Mahadevananda and Aratrikam.

The day concluded with Japam and Dhyanam, a discourse on “Sadhana is an essential part of Human Life” by Swami Guruvaraananda, and an interactive Question & Answer Session with Swami Atmaghanananda, Swami Vimokshananda and Swami Satyajnanananda. The participants then partook in Prasad and retired for the night.

Day 3 – Sunday, 9 August 2026

The second full day of the retreat continued with the same disciplined spiritual routine. The morning began with Veda Parayanam, Japam and Dhyanam, Ula Sangerthanam and Yoga, followed by breakfast and interaction between Swamis and devotees.

A reading from the Gospel of Sri Sarada Devi preceded the morning discourses. Swami Vimokshanandaji presented “தன்னை ஈந்த தவயோகி – Part 2”, continuing the previous day's reflection. Swami Satyaprabhananda then spoke on “The Power of God's Name.”

The morning programme continued with the second part of the Harikatha “Holy Trio & Premanandaji Maharaj – Part II” by Swami Harivratananda. This was followed by Swami Dhyanagamyananda's discourse on the devotional teaching “Sā tvasmin parama-prema-rūpā”, exploring the nature of supreme love for God.

The afternoon sessions included a video presentation on Rameswaram, devotional bhajans by Swami Shankaratmananda, and Japam and Dhyanam. Participants also took part in Bhagavad Gita Parayanam conducted by Swami Mahadevananda.

In the evening, participants learned the Sri Ramakrishna Dhyana Slokas, followed by a discourse titled “You are under surveillance of Holy Trio” by Swami Veerabhadranandaji, Adhyaksha of Haripad Ramakrishna Mission. The day continued with Sandhya Arati.

The retreat's final evening session included Sunday Bhajans, creating an atmosphere of collective devotion and joy. The day concluded with a Sharing of Learning, Experience and Feedback, giving participants an opportunity to reflect upon the spiritual insights and experiences gained during the retreat.

Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai celebrated Guru Purnima on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, with deep devotion and spiritual fervour. A large number of devotees gathered at the Math from the early hours of the morning to offer their reverence to Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Trio, and the sacred Guru Parampara.

The day's observances commenced with Mangala Arati, followed by a Special Puja to Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, devotional bhajans, and the chanting of the Sri Guru Gita. A Special Arati was performed at 11:30 a.m., after which Prasad was distributed to all the devotees.

In the evening, the celebrations continued with the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranamam and Sri Ramakrishna Ashtottarashatanama Archana, followed by Aratrikam. The spiritual gathering concluded with inspiring discourses delivered by Swami Atmaghanananda (in Tamil) and Swami Raghunayakananda, who highlighted the significance of the Guru in spiritual life and the timeless teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna. The program concluded with the distribution of Prasad to all the assembled devotees.

Thousands of devotees also participated through the live streaming, making the celebration a spiritually uplifting experience for devotees across the world.

Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai successfully conducted the Devotees' Meet 2026 on 7th June 2026 at the Ramakrishnananda Hall. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 700 devotees, who gathered to deepen their spiritual life and strengthen their connection with the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.

The event commenced with Vedic chanting by the monks, followed by sessions on Prayer Mantras, Guided Meditation, devotional singing, and inspiring talks by senior monks on the significance of spiritual life and the role of Ramakrishna temples as centres of silent spirituality. A video presentation on the Rameswaram Centre was also screened.

The highlight of the program was the Benedictory Address by Pujaniya Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj (President Maharaj), which was received with deep reverence and devotion by all present. The program concluded with Ramakrishna Sharanam, leaving devotees spiritually inspired and uplifted.

The gathering was a memorable and blessed occasion, fostering devotion, fellowship, and spiritual growth among all who attended.

Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony at Rameshwaram Centre (Photos)

A momentous and sacred milestone in the history of the proposed first official Ramakrishna Math Centre at Rameshwaram was marked on 4 June 2026 with the performance of the Bhumi Puja and foundation stone laying ceremony by Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, in the presence of monks, devotees, and well-wishers.

The ceremony commenced in the morning with Vedic chanting and traditional rituals invoking the blessings of the Divine for the successful establishment of the Centre. Monks of the Ramakrishna Order, devotees, well-wishers, and local residents gathered to witness this historic occasion.

Following the prescribed worship and rituals, Most Revered President Maharaj ceremonially laid the foundation stone for the proposed Centre. In his blessings, Maharaj emphasized the spiritual significance of Rameshwaram, one of India's most sacred pilgrimage centres, sanctified by its association with father of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. He expressed the hope that the new Ramakrishna Math Centre would serve as a beacon of spirituality, character-building, and selfless service, inspired by the ideals of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna. At present, this Centre functions as a sub-centre of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.

The proposed Centre aims to become a vibrant hub of spiritual and humanitarian activities in the region. In the first phase, plans include the construction of a temple dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, a Yatri Nivas for pilgrims, a dispensary, a hostel for deserving students, monks’ quarters, and an office-cum-bookstall.

Rameshwaram occupies a unique place in the spiritual geography of India as one of the twelve Jyotirlinga kshetras and a revered pilgrimage destination. The establishment of a Ramakrishna Math Centre at this holy place fulfils a long-felt need for an institution dedicated to spiritual awakening and service to humanity in accordance with the motto of the Ramakrishna Order: “Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha” — “For one's own liberation and for the welfare of the world.”

Devotees and well-wishers fervently pray for the successful completion of the Centre and for its growth into a source of spiritual inspiration and compassionate service for generations to come.

Most Revered President Maharaj, Srimat Swami Gautamananda Ji Maharaj, visited Ramakrishna Math, Chennai on 26th May 2026. His visit was a source of immense joy and spiritual inspiration to devotees and admirers.

During his stay, Maharaj attended the daily evening Arati at the temple and graciously gave darshan to devotees at Ramakrishnananda Hall. A large number of devotees availed themselves of this blessed opportunity to receive his holy darshan and blessings.

Phalaharani Kali Puja was celebrated with devotion at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai on 16th May 2026. The occasion featured Aratrikam, soulful bhajans, a special puja, and an elaborate Arati offered to the Divine Mother. Devotional chanting, bhajans by various groups, and Archana marked the afternoon sessions, culminating in evening aratrikam.

In the evening, special talks were delivered in Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall by Swami Tanmayanandaji and Swami Atmaghananandaji, inspiring the devotees with reflections on the life and message of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna.

Devotees participated in large numbers throughout the day, making the sacred observance spiritually uplifting and deeply fulfilling.
