127TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA MATH, CHENNAI

In memory of Swami Ramakrishnanadaji's historic arrival to Chennai on March 17, 1897, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, orchestrated a heartfelt celebration on March 17, 2024. The event was a reverent homage to the profound legacy and tireless efforts of Swami Ramakrishnananda in establishing the Chennai Math, a beacon of spiritual enlightenment.

The program commenced with soul-stirring Bhajans performed by the students of Balamandir, Chennai Math. Following this serene invocation, Swami Dharmishthananda, Manager of Sri Ramakrishna Math Chennai, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a tone of reverence and gratitude for the occasion.

Swami Atmaghanananda, in his discourse, shed light on the arduous journey and relentless struggles faced by Swami Ramakrishnananda in Chennai, underscoring his unwavering dedication to the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. 

Further enriching the commemoration, Sri Thiruppur Krishnan, Editor of Amudhasurabi Magazine, delivered a thought-provoking talk in Tamil titled 'Swami Ramakrishnananda's Dedication and Sri Ramakrishna Math,' encapsulating the essence of Swami Ramakrishnananda's profound commitment to his spiritual ideals.

A special address titled 'Swami Ramakrishnananda - Mother of Ramakrishna Sanga' was delivered by Swami Satyaprabhananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Chengam, highlighting Swami Ramakrishnananda's pivotal role in nurturing and fostering the spiritual community, reminiscent of a mother's nurturing care.

The cultural segment of the program featured an 'Isai Prasangam' titled 'Chennaiyil Shashi Maharaj' performed by the monastics, filling the atmosphere with melodious tunes that resonated with the spirit of the occasion.

Prasadam was distributed among all attendees.
