Prize Distribution Function in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-75th year of Indian Independence on Saturday-20th August 2022

Cultural Competitions in Painting-Essay Writing & Elocution were conducted for a few thousands of students from various Schools, Colleges including Vivekananda Cultural Centre course participants were conducted in July-August. The topics in the various cultural competitions were :

1. Painting Competition: My most admired leader of the Indian Freedom Movement

2. Elocution: Unsung Heroes of the Indian Freedom Struggle (in English/Tamil/Hindi)

3. Essay Writing: How I see India@100 (in English/Tamil/Hindi)

The prize distribution function was arranged for winners of 1st/2nd/3rd Prizes with a memento with inspiring quotation of Swami Vivekananda for colleges.

The program was inaugurated by the traditional lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Sri Ganesh Ji, Divisional Railway Manager–Chennai Zone in the presence of Swami Sathyaprabhananda ji, from Ramakrishna Mission-T. Nagar and Swami Ranghunayakananda, Director of Vivekananda Cultural Centre(A Unit of Sri Ramakrishna Math-Chennai), who welcomed all present with a brief introduction about Vivekanandar Illam and the different programs conducted at the centre.

In his Chief Guest address, Sri Ganesh Ji, dwelt with considerable feeling on his long association of many decades with the Ramakrishna Movement across the country especially Belur Math-Headquarters at Kolkata. Himself a brilliant scholar and topper in his studies-being an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur-he gave out the secret of his success & developing efficiency on regular meditation from childhood and practicing the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and spirituality. He also proudly mentioned about the oldest living freedom fighter in Chennai, 100+ year old Sri N.Sankariah.

Swami Sathyaprabhananda ji, from our Ramakrishna Mission T. Nagar, in his inspiring talk in Tamil,  motivated all present with heart-touching and rarely heard facts about Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai-the great heroic freedom fighter.  In his humourous way, he regaled all present with rare anecdotes from our ancient Indian tradition and culture, finishing with a clarion call to the students to mould themselves to become strong and face the challenges of life strongly. 

Swami Dharmishtananda ji, Manager Sri Ramakrishna Math-Chenna, in his closing talk on nation-building through the teachings of Swami Vivekananda exhorted the students to become strong and blessed citizens od our great country-Bhathvarsha.
