The Vivekananda Samskrita Adyayana Sarani was started on 24-11-2014 in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati as part of 150thBirth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda. So far seven batches of students have successfully completed the course.
The inaugural function of the 8th batch and the convocation ceremony for the 6th batch was held on 26th April between 7.15 and 8.45 p.m. at Swami Vivekananda Centenary Auditorium in the Math premises.
Revered Srimath Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj addressed the gathering. Revered Maharaj spoke about the importance of Sanskrit learning and how Ramakrishna Mission is doing a great revolution by teaching Vedas to one and all without any distinction. Prof. Dr. R. Ramachandran, Department of Sanskrit, Vivekananda College & Coordinator for Sanskrit Course spoke about the necessity of learning Sanskrit. Students who have completed the course shared their experiences with delight.
Certificates were distributed for those who have completed the course Level I, II & III successfully. 43 students in Level I and 40 students in Level II and 41 students in Level III have received the certificates for the completion of the course.
100 candidates aspiring to study Sanskrit have registered themselves for Level I, 30 for Level II and 20 for Level III. for the 8th batch. The admission for the candidates into the two levels is over. The classes will commence from 1st week of June after a ten days training program- “Vadatu Samskritam “to the freshers. The next session will begin in October 2017
