Batch: 08th Batch (17.08.2025)
The 8th batch of the Kolam Workshop commenced on 17th August 2025 with prayers, flower offerings, and the traditional lighting of the lamp by the participants along with the Kolam instructor.
In his introductory address, the Director of Vivekananda Cultural Centre highlighted the continued relevance of this ancient art in the modern day and spoke about the threefold benefits of practicing this divine tradition.
A total of 10 participants enthusiastically took part in this cultural and traditional art form of Kolam. The workshop was led by Smt. Kamalavathy, a renowned Kolam artist, and was conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In his special address, the Director emphasized the essential role of Kolam in our native culture—bringing harmony to the home and ensuring the continuity of this culture-sensitive art form for future generations.
The session concluded with certificate distribution, where participants also shared their feedback. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to VCC and the instructor, showing keen interest in joining the advanced-level workshop and in participating in more such cultural programs at VCC.
The workshop was made successful with the joyful collaboration of the instructor, volunteers, and staff members. Lunch prasad, tea, and snacks were served to all participants.
Batch: 07th Batch (23.02.2025)
The Kolam workshop started with prayers, flower offerings, and lighting of the lamp by participants and Kolam Instructor.
In his introduction, Director of Vivekananda Cultural Centre addressed the relevance of this ancient art till today. And three levels of benefits by practicing this divine form of art.
Including 3 Japanese participants, around 17 participants attended this Cultural and Traditional art form of Kolam.
The workshop was conducted by Smt. Kamalavathy a well-known and Renowned Kolam artist.
The workshop was conducted from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm with refreshments.
Swami Ishapremananda ji Maharaj, In charge - Vivekanandar Illam, in his Address emphasized the Essentials of Kolam art forms of our native and ancient culture, which brings harmony to the home and Contributes to the continuity of the culture-sensitive art form for future generations.
Course Instructor, volunteers & staff collaborated joyfully with the VCC team to make this event successful.
All the participants expressed their gratitude to VCC and the instructor for conducting this workshop and showed interest in attending it's advanced level soon. They also expressed their enthusiasm for learning more and more such programs at Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC).
Lunch prasad was served along with tea and snacks for all participants.
