Mala Grathana Workshop (July 2023)

Two-day workshop out of the four-day (two weekends) Mala Grathana workshop got over on 8th-9th July 2023.

Volunteer & ardent devotee who regularly serves Math shrine by making garlands just like ancient devotee Andal (Soodi kuduthaval) 

Smt. Vijayalakshmi, popular in devotee circles as ‘Tulsi amma’ who lovingly taught a variety of garlands using fresh and fragrant flowers in the calming ambience of the 1st floor Prayer Hall, with Om Chanting in the background. 

Earlier Swami Raghunayakananda ji inaugurated the Orientation session using the metaphor of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, who used to this gentle ancient art of Garland Making–which is one of the 64 ancient arts to go nearer to the Divine. He also referred to the many Alwars in South Indian tradition who have attained to God making garlands especially Andal and her father Perialwar. 

Hari Katha exponent Sri Vignesh Chandrasekaran ji in his chief guest address, appealed to the divine aspect through a soulful rendering of verses in the Hari Katha style. He also referred to the Phool Bunglow (Garden house) in Brindavan Dwelling in length upon the need to have a devotional attitude while making garlands with natural flowers, he appealed all to utilize this opportunity to develop our devotion.
