Sri Anna Subramanian, was a household disciple of Swami Shivananda Maharaj, a direct disciple of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna. He has written Tamil commentaries for around 70 books in Sanskrit on various scriptures published by our Math. Thousands of people are ardent admirers of his scholarship and saintly life. Affectionately called ‘Anna’ by his students, he served for many years in Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, T.Nagar RK Mission School and Vivekananda College in Chennai.

Now, our Math is in the process of digitizing all his books and republish the same using new printing technology. In recognition of the great service rendered by Sri Anna Subramanian to both Tamil and Spiritual literature, a function was organised at the Math on 17th May 2015. ‘Vedabhashya Rathna’ Sri R.Krishnamurthy Sastrigal, Dr. K.Srinivasan, Principal, Vivekananda College, Dr.Nalli Kuppusami Chettiar & several disciples of Sri Anna graced the function.
