As part of economic rehabilitation initiatives of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, Math frequently organizes camps to help enrol LCDPs and their family members in various government welfare schemes, based on their eligibility. LCDPs are assisted in obtaining UDID cards, disability certificates, and bus pass and train travel concessions through medical officers. Special camps are also conducted to register them under government insurance schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers Welfare Board (TNMWB).
A formal event was organized at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, on May 2018, with Shri. Alok Ojha, Chief Post Master General, Chennai, as the Chief Guest. During the event, 87 LCDPs were enrolled in Postal Insurance with the support of the Postal Department, Government of India, particularly through the efforts of Shri. Alok Ojha. Enrolment in TNMWB and Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes was supported by Shri. Thangappan, TN President, Bharatiya Mastoor Sangh, and his team. In another event, held on 12th December, 2018, the disability certificates and documents of enrolled schemes to LCDPs were given in the presence of the Chief Guest Shri. George Simon, General Manager, BHEL.
Additionally, on 18th March 2023, Mrs. Kalaiselvi and her team of seven volunteers organized a camp at Math to assist LCDPs in enrolling in PMSBY, PMJJBY, and the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers Welfare Board. Following eligibility assessment, 76 LCDPs and their family members were successfully enrolled in these schemes.
Earlier, 10 LCDPs were assisted in obtaining houses through the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, and 28 children of LCDPs supported in securing Nursing Assistant posts under the Government of Tamil Nadu.
