The 172nd Catch Them Young Workshop was successfully conducted at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre on Friday, 02 January 2026, offering an enriching and thought-provoking experience to 80 B.Com and Botany students from Guru Nanak College, Velachery. The students participated with great enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere of curiosity, reflection, and lively interaction throughout the day.
The programme began with a serene invocation, setting a purposeful and focused ambience. This was followed by an orientation session that introduced the students to the vision and activities of the Vivekananda Cultural Centre and Vivekananda Illam, emphasising their mission of fostering character building, leadership qualities, and national values among young minds.
The highlight of the workshop was an impactful session on “Power of Mind” by the Director Swamiji. Through insightful explanations, relatable examples, and interactive dialogue, Swamiji illuminated the boundless capabilities of the human mind. He stressed the significance of self-discipline, awareness, and positive thinking, inspiring students to cultivate mental strength, clarity of purpose, and emotional resilience.
Students actively shared their reflections and learnings, expressing how the sessions prompted deep self-introspection and motivated them to approach their academic and personal lives with renewed confidence and determination.
Adding to the experiential learning, the participants were taken on a guided visit to the Experience Vivekananda Museum, where immersive exhibits vividly showcased the life, ideals, and enduring message of Swami Vivekananda. The visit enabled students to connect his teachings with contemporary life and societal responsibilities.
The workshop concluded on a joyful note with the distribution of certificates, books, and photographs of Swami Vivekananda, followed by refreshments. A cheerful group photograph taken near the statue of Swami Vivekananda beautifully marked the culmination of a meaningful and memorable learning journey.
