Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, as a part of Leprosy Community based Rehabilitation Services, celebrated Kaanum Pongal Festival for Leprosy Afflicted Divyangjan at SKNS PMC Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Perambur on 16.01.2023 and 17.01.2023.
The inaugural event was graced by the Mataji Gnaneswari Giri Ji, who blessed the gatherings. This programme followed with the performance of cultural events and a show on Swami Vivekananda on 16th Jan, 2023, dinner and stay at night and continued on 17th Jan, 2023 with offering (Nivedanam) of Pongal to the Lord Surya Narayana, followed by Surya Namaskar, Yoga, Sports competitions for both LCDPs and their family members. The program concluded with a midday lunch Prasad.
The Valedictory event was graced by the Chief Guest Swami Sashishikananda Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, who delivered a benedictory address, distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions and blessed all LCDPs and volunteers serving LCDPs. Special Guests Shri. P. Raman from Dasya Trust, Shri K.E. Srinivasan, Correspondent of SKNS PMC Vivekananda Vidyalaya and other guests delivered a special address. Welcome address and Vote of thanks were delivered by Dr.S.Sivasubramanian.
About 84 LCDPs along with their family members actively participated in the 2 days event with enriched festive spirit.
