Competitions for Speech & Hearing Impaired Students
In connection with National Youth Day 2024, Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence a unit of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai invited students from Dr. MGR Home and School for the Speech and Hearing Impaired, Ramapuram, Chennai to visit the Math and present cultural performances.
87 students from primary to class 9th accompanied by 17 teachers and few parents reached the Math at 9.a.m. After offering their Pranams in the temple, visited Old shrine and Swami Ramakrishnananda Mandapam then they assembled in Swami Vivekananda Centenary Hall. Swami Shankaratmanandaji Mahraj began the session by performing Arati to Holy trio. Swami Apavargananda Maharaj welcomed the gathering and also introduced about Sri Ramakrishna Math & its activities adding some stories to inspire the Children of God the Specially abled children success. 43 students took part in the cultural events which included Rangoli, Drawing, Essay writing, Mimes, and Dance.
Swami Dharmishthanandaji Maharaj, manager of the Math blessed the children in his short address and distributed prizes to the participants. All the students were given gifts according to their age which included Pouch, comic books, books for youth, student utilities set, tops, pen sets, necklaces for dancers, painting set, and pen set.
A teach representing the school expressed her gratitude for such wonderful encouragement for these children through the books & competitions.
With vote of Thanks by Sri Shankar, ATA India and National Enthem session was ended.
The whole gathering had lunch Prasadam and left by 2.p.m. filled with happy memories.
With the service of Teachers, Volunteers, and staffs the event was joyful and successful.
