Empowered LCDPs from Math’s Community-Based Rehabilitation program volunteer to serve fellow LCDPs living in colonies by assisting them during hospitalization and cleaning their premises. Most colonies are in poor condition, with dilapidated houses, overgrown surroundings, and unhygienic toilets.

LCDPs, along with Math volunteers, regularly conduct cleaning drives at GLC (Tirumani), Polambakkam, and the Rehabilitation Home at Paranur, which house many LCDPs and their families. On occasions such as Gandhi Jayanti, they begin these Swachh Bharat activities with Pushpanjali offered to the Holy Trio and Mahatma Gandhi before engaging in bush and weed removal, toilet cleaning, temple cleaning, and campus maintenance. These voluntary efforts help transform the colonies into safer and more livable environments. In addition to cleaning activities, food, essential supplies, and clothes are distributed to resident LCDPs during these drives. Similar cleaning drives, along with ulcer dressing services, are also organized prior to the Deepawali festival, improving the quality of life for LCDPs in the colonies.

LCDPs also engage in Uzhavara Pani (temple cleaning) activities in the temples of the above colonies as well as several temples across Chennai and nearby districts, including during the famous Arubathu Moovar festival in Mylapore. Notably, Sri Bhakthavatsalu, an LCDP along with his wife, has carried out Uzhavara Pani in over 200 temples across Tamil Nadu.
