The inaugural/orientation session for 13 Thanjavur Painting Weekend (Sat-Sun) batch participants began on December 2nd with traditional lamp lighting.
Following a brief course overview by the instructor, Director Swamiji's in his benediction encouraged all to complete this course in a disciplined manner with a meditative mind to bring out the best picture.
This ancient 11th century traditional art-form necessitates maturity, and admissions are open to any interested student aged 18 to 60, who will be taught everything from drawing a picture on paper to transferring it on a cloth pasted on a board, followed by embossing with semi-precious stones, and finally framing the picture!
