Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration 2024 (Photos)

On the occasion of 11th Sep–Universal Brotherhood Day; Revered Swami Atmaghanananda ji, Senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order, Swami Dhyanagamyananda ji, Secretary-Vivekananda College, Chennai; Swami Satyajnanananda ji, Adhyaksha Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, Swami Raghunayakananda ji, Manager Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, Chief Guest Shri Ganesh ji, Principal Chief Safety officer – Southern Railways; accompanied by monks offered flowers to Holy Trio inside the shrine in Vivekanandar Illam and Swami Vivekananda’s statue in front. This was followed by Arati and lighting of lamp at the Sister Nivedita Auditorium.

Students from MOP Vaishnav College rendered the Opening Song to invoke the blessings of Swami Vivekananda.

Br. Vānīshachaitanya Maharaj, Director of VCC gave the Welcome Address, explaining in depth the significance of Universal Brotherhood Day.

Swami Dhyanagamyananda ji gave a fiery and enthralling speech on 'How to make Swami Vivekananda relevant to our lives' and Evolve as better human beings.

Chief Guest Shri Ganesh j opened our eyes to the gripping fact that the Chicago Speech of Swami Vivekananda was a wake-up call to all humanity to give-up selfishness and work together for the betterment of society.

Swami Atmaghanananda ji, Senior Monk of the Ramakrishna Order delighted the audience of youths by sharing his experiences from the challenges faced by him while serving abroad in Sri Lanka.

Five students from four Colleges, namely Ms Akshaya A (MOP Vaishnav), Ms Monica C & Ms Mary Jenfer A, (Chellammal College) Ms Arshee Khan (Guru Nanak College) and Ms Srinidhi M (Bharathi Women's College), presented their views on the Relevance of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Speech in the present scenario.

Swami Raghunayakananda ji, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math-Chennai, in his Vote of Thanks exhorted all to take at least one Quotation of Swami Vivekananda and make it their own. 

About 220 students participated in the celebrations. A notepad, pen and Swami Vivekananda's literature was given to all. Tea, snacks and lunch prasadam were served to all.
