Vivekananda Navaratri 2024 - Day 2
The second day of the Vivekananda Navaratri at Vivekananda College, Mylapore, unfolded with a divine symphony as students harmoniously rendered soul-stirring bhajans. The atmosphere reverberated with devotion, setting the stage for a day filled with insightful talks and cultural performances.
The focal point of the day was a compelling discourse in Tamil on the theme ‘Service to Man is Service to God’ delivered by Swami Satyajnanananda, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai. Swami Satyajnanananda eloquently expounded on the philosophy of selfless service, emphasizing Swami Vivekananda's teachings that underscore the intrinsic connection between serving humanity and serving the divine. The audience was captivated by his profound insights and practical examples, inspiring everyone to consider the welfare of others as a sacred duty.
The day continued with a special talk in Tamil on the ‘Thoughts of Swami Vivekananda’ by Justice (Retd) P.N. Prakash, formerly of the High Court of Madras. Justice Prakash, with his legal acumen and deep understanding of Swami Vivekananda's philosophy, provided a thought-provoking exploration of the spiritual giant's ideas.
Adding a cultural dimension to the event, the audience was treated to a mesmerizing Bharatanjali performance titled ‘Ramayanam’ by Smt Anitha Guha and her talented students from Chennai. The classical dance portrayal of the epic Ramayana was a visual feast, showcasing the artistic finesse and storytelling prowess of the performers
