The third day of Vivekananda Navaratri was observed with deep devotion and inspiration on Sunday, 08 February 2026, at Vivekananda Illam, Chennai. The evening session, held from 5.00 pm to 8.30 pm, featured a blend of bhajans, readings, lectures, and classical dance, offering both spiritual depth and cultural richness.
The programme commenced with soulful bhajans by the students of Vivekananda College, Chennai, setting a serene and uplifting tone for the evening. This was followed by a reading from Swami Vivekananda’s Chennai Lecture — “The Work Before Us”, reminding the audience of Swamiji’s call to dedicated service and nation-building.
A thought-provoking talk on “Future of India – Swamiji’s Vision” was delivered by Swami Nityadipananda, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Madurai. His address highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s ideals for a strong, awakened, and value-based India, inspiring the gathering to translate these ideals into daily life.
The Chief Guest Address was given by Padma Shri Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, on the theme “Let Us Create a Developed India”. He spoke about the role of youth, education, character, and innovation in shaping the nation’s future, connecting modern progress with spiritual foundations.
The cultural segment featured a vibrant Kuchipudi thematic dance production — “Ardhanareeshwaram” by the Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai. The performance beautifully depicted the divine unity of Shiva and Shakti and was received with great appreciation by the audience.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Swami Suprajnananda, expressing gratitude to the speakers, artists, participants, and devotees for making the evening meaningful and successful.
