The nine-day Vivekananda Navaratri 2026 concluded reverentially on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at Vivekananda Illam, Chennai, with a spiritually elevating and culturally rich Valedictory Function.

The evening commenced with soulful bhajans by the students of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, setting a devotional atmosphere. This was followed by a meaningful reading from Swami Vivekananda’s Chennai Lecture, “The Future of India”, reminding the audience of his timeless vision for the nation.

The Valedictory Function formally began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the culmination of nine days of spiritual celebration. Swami Shantachittananda, Editor of The Vedanta Kesari, delivered the welcome address and reflected on the significance of Vivekananda Navaratri in nurturing India’s spiritual and cultural values. The dignitaries were then honoured in recognition of their presence and contributions.

The Chief Guest’s Address was delivered by Sri Ganesh, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Southern Railways, who shared inspiring thoughts on values, discipline, and nation-building, drawing parallels between spiritual ideals and public service.

This was followed by a scholarly talk on “Swamiji’s Contribution to India’s Cultural Heritage” by Swami Raghunayakananda, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s enduring influence on India’s cultural resurgence. The audience then received blessings during the Benediction by Revered Swami Tanmayanandaji Maharaj, Senior Monk of the Ramakrishna Mission, Haridwar.

A concise summary of Vivekananda Navaratri 2026 celebrations and Vote of Thanks was presented by Swami Ishapremananda, acknowledging the collective efforts that made the nine-day observance meaningful and successful. The formal proceedings concluded with a serene closing song rendered by Swami Karuneshananda.

The evening culminated with a visually captivating thematic dance-drama, “Sri Andal Charitam”, presented by Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai. The performance beautifully blended devotion, aesthetics, and classical artistry, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

With this spiritually enriching finale, Vivekananda Navaratri 2026 concluded on an elevated note, reaffirming Swami Vivekananda’s eternal message of inner strength, cultural pride, and service to humanity.
